Clowns 🤡 the lot of em’ 🤦‍♂️

What do you think the current Line 5 has done for the past 73yrs? Be just used for private profiteering while also utilizing “public” infrastructure to do so?

It’s there to provide energy resources to the UP from the mainland peninsula. You shut that down your half way to starving and freezing your fellow Michiganders in the UP to death. Where the roads are less then reliable during the winter & Wisconsin will most definitely charge an insane amount to try and send energy in from their side of the UP.

Now we get to the why shutting it down is a good thing.

It’s a good thing to shut down the existing pipelines because they’re part of an aging system that’s getting harder & more expensive to maintain. As it crumbles there’s the potential for the lines to burst and spill into our already contaminated lakes making matters much worse than they already are.

However the good things of shutting it down do not out way the necessity of providing efficient and safe energy resources to the UP. Not to mention more affordable energy savings that can be passed on to the residents of the UP.

However, we must shut down the aging pipeline before its critical failure. Hence why the Job inducing process of tunneling under the water tables well bellow that of the Lake Michigan aquifer is a solid choice.

Hypothetically we could build it out like the Chunnel in the straights of the UK and it could even provide an alternative travel option to getting to the UP! (Tourism traps!)

Realistically it won’t be built this way but will have been built with a concrete encased tunnel the new pipes, fiber & coax internet lines and electrical lines will all lay in along with higher than industry standard sensors and maintenance robots that’ll crawl the lines regularly to make sure there’s no leaks or damage.

The current pipelines only transfers crude oil & is built with 1950’s technologies.

The new system provided by Enbridge in partnership with the State would ensure safe and reliable transportation of the aforementioned & ensure the preservation of our natural heritage as both EGLE and Federal EPA regulations are enforced to the fullest to continue those protections for generations to come.

We must replace the degrading existing line 5 for not only the protections of our Great Lakes but, also the securing of future proof technologies used to support our fellow Michigan Neighbors in the UP & Northern Michigan.
